SeedsByZone is an independent directory of seed sellers organized by published climate specializations, USDA hardiness zones, and ordering methods.

This Privacy Policy applies to information submitted through this website and information involved in delivering its pages and functionality.

1. Information you provide

You may voluntarily provide information through the following forms:

• Seller suggestions: seller names, business locations, website addresses, source links, climate descriptions, ordering information, and additional notes.
• Listing claims: information supplied by a seller or authorized representative when requesting to claim or correct a listing.
• Corrections: the affected listing, the information believed to be incorrect, supporting source links, and any accompanying explanation.
• Contact messages: information you choose to provide so that your inquiry can be reviewed and answered.

Only provide information that is relevant to your submission. Do not submit passwords, payment-card information, or other confidential information through these forms.

2. How submissions are processed

Website forms send submitted information as JSON to the SeedsByZone forms endpoint operated through Cloudflare Workers:

Form submissions are handled through the Cloudflare Workers service and associated Cloudflare storage.

Submissions are reviewed before anything is published. Sending a seller suggestion, correction, listing claim, or contact message does not automatically create or change a public listing.

Submissions are handled as pending review items. Information is evaluated before any decision to publish or update directory content.

3. How submitted information is used

Information submitted through this website may be used to:

• Evaluate potential seed seller listings.
• Verify published climate specializations.
• Check seller-published USDA zone information.
• Review ordering methods and catalog descriptions.
• Investigate corrections to existing records.
• Review listing ownership or representative claims.
• Respond to inquiries and website-related messages.

Contact information is used in connection with the submission or inquiry for which it was provided.

4. Public directory information

Information accepted for publication may appear in public directory listings. This can include seller names, business locations, official website links, published climate specializations, ordering models, catalog focus, and source references.

SeedsByZone uses seller-published information to construct its directory records. Information intended for private review is not automatically published simply because it was submitted.

Do not include personal or confidential information in a submission unless it is necessary for the request.

5. ZIP-code lookup and local data

The ZIP-to-USDA-zone lookup runs locally in your browser against a static reference file bundled with the website, and no ZIP code leaves your device.

The lookup does not send your ZIP code to an external ZIP lookup API.

Browsing zone and climate-region pages also uses the website's published directory data.

6. Cookies, analytics, and tracking

The website is built as a static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript directory. No analytics or advertising tracking scripts are included in the launch build.

The ZIP lookup does not require an account or submit a ZIP code to an external lookup service.

Infrastructure providers may process technical information as part of delivering website content and receiving form submissions. Their processing is subject to their own applicable policies.

7. Advertising and affiliate links

Advertising and affiliate arrangements may be introduced in the future. Any advertising or affiliate placement will be subject to the applicable disclosures and third-party privacy practices.

No tracked Botanical Interests affiliate link is included unless and until the required affiliate approval is confirmed.

If third-party advertising or affiliate services are introduced, this policy may be updated to describe the relevant services.

8. Third-party websites

Directory listings may link to seed sellers, catalogs, the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map, and other external resources.

When you follow an external link, you leave SeedsByZone. The destination website operates under its own privacy policy and practices.

We do not control the information collected by external websites or how those websites use submitted information.

9. Information security

Forms are transmitted to the website's designated Cloudflare Worker endpoint. Submissions are handled through the associated service and storage infrastructure.

No website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Avoid including sensitive information that is unnecessary for your submission.

10. Data retention and deletion requests

Submitted information may be retained as necessary to review suggestions, maintain directory records, address corrections, and handle related inquiries.

If you want to request a review of information you submitted, contact SeedsByZone and identify the relevant submission as clearly as possible.

Requests will be reviewed in light of the information involved and any applicable operational or legal requirements.

11. Children's privacy

SeedsByZone is a general-interest directory, not a service specifically directed at children. Do not submit personal information belonging to a child through the website.

12. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when website functionality, submission handling, advertising arrangements, or applicable requirements change.
